Nikola Jokic continues to joke, losing the NBA Finals MVP trophy after winning the championship

Unlike many previous NBA Finals MVP title holders, Nikola Jokic entered the press conference room with… a bottle of beer in his hand instead of the trophy named after the legendary Larry O’Brien.

Not many people paid attention to this detail because Jokic then humorously poured beer on the head of teammate Kentavious Caldwell-Pope. Then the Serbian striker sat for an interview on an empty table instead of the Finals MVP trophy.

…And Nikola Jokic didn’t bring anything with him this year when interacting with reporters

One person who noticed this mysterious disappearance was Malika Andrews, an editor at ESPN. She then asked Nikola Jokic where the Finals MVP trophy was and received a very honest answer.

I honestly don’t know where it is. I haven’t seen it in a while. I left it in Sparky’s (Denver Nuggets’ equipment staff) room a while ago, but now it’s not there anymore.

I don’t know where it went. Hopefully someone will see it and send it to my house in the next few days “, Nikola Jokic shared with ESPN.

The “online detectives” immediately got to work and found a pretty funny video of Nikola Jokic with the NBA Finals MVP trophy.

Immediately after receiving the title and speaking on the podium, he left it on the table and went to find family members to share the joy. Bruce Brown was the one holding the Finals MVP trophy in his hand and seemingly not knowing what to do with it.

The video below shows Brown looking quite confused while holding something very important that does not belong to him. He seemed to constantly look around for Jokic to return it to its rightful owner.

Obviously Nikola Jokic’s interest lies not in individual titles or records. What he wants is to win the championship and then go home quickly to spend time with his family.

Jokic told TNT that he needed to be in his hometown of Serbia as soon as possible, both to return to the arms of his loved ones and to… watch one of his horses participate in a race on Sunday.

Even “The Joker” joked that he needed billionaire owner Kroenke to arrange a special plane to get home in time.

Nikola Jokic has just concluded one of the best Playoffs and NBA Finals series in tournament history. He achieved an absolute vote of 11/11 to become NBA Finals MVP 2023, averaging 30.2 points, 14.0 rebounds, 7.2 assists and 1.4 blocks per game.

On the way to the first championship for himself and the club’s history, Jokic broke many records and rubbed shoulders with many legends as well as the best players the NBA has ever seen.
