“I imagined that, instead of being a lonely woman covered in cat hair, drinking heavily, I was a Victorian lady wandering through the woods with a candle and I just wrote words on parchment with a feather pen,” Taylor said of the inspiration for folklore .

“That’s my thinking. I think I look like that when I write folklore ,” the singer continued, “I don’t look like that. But that’s what matters – the imagination” .
