Messi: “I am the only unrecognized world champion”

Messi is happy in Miami. Everything went very well for both him and his family, who adapted perfectly to life in America.

The Argentinian gave an interview to the Olga program, in which he shared how he adapted to his new reality, but he also left a message for his former team PSG when asked about his time in Paris.

“It happened like that. The truth is it wasn’t what I expected, but I always say everything happens for a reason and even though it wasn’t good there I became world champion during my time there. Everything happens for a reason and it has to be like that,” Messi began the story.

Regarding his relationship with Kylian Mbappe, Messi said: “With Kylian, I’m fine, like the rest.”

What hurt Messi the most was not being recognized by the club after winning the World Cup: “That’s understandable. I was in a position where we won the final and because of our fault, in short, they (the French team) could not become world champions again. I was the only player who was not recognized, besides my other 25 teammates.”

Regarding the next World Cup, Messi said: “I haven’t thought about it yet, it’s still very far away. I really think about the Copa America, I want to do well. The tournament takes place in America. It will be great, we experienced the Copa Centennial being played here as well. Even though we lost the final, the process went very well.”

La Pulga also revealed his future after leaving football: “I’m lucky to be able to do the job I love. Even though I have responsibilities and goals, it’s still something I enjoy doing. What will I do next? I do not know. I want to be an athletic director, be with the kids to teach.”

Finally, Messi spoke about the routine in Miami: “We wake up at 7 o’clock with the children, have breakfast and sometimes I take them to school, sometimes I don’t. We eat toast, chocolate.

At the club we have a schedule, like every other team. There is a fine… We practice and I return home at 1pm. After eating and napping, we watch TV: series, movies, whatever. Then I will go find the kids and practice with them.”
