It’s perfect for fall.
Another day, another long, sharp, and gorgeous nail look from Megan Thee Stallion. The rap superstar seems to not know how to wear nails that aren’t multi-inch claws, and we love her so much for that. Just last week, she wore four of these nail looks at one time—well, at least in one Instagram post, including optical illusion, golden baroque, milky nails, and red velvet, to be exact. Her latest claws of choice, however, are gearing up to be one of the biggest nail colors of the season.
On October 24, Thee Stallion posted an Instagram carousel showing off her outfit and manicure, which was dark denim from head to toe.
The nails in question were, to no one’s surprise, about as long as her fingers and stiletto-shaped. Each of them was a gorgeous deep blue with grayish undertones reminiscent of dark wash denim. However, in contrast to most of the denim nails we have seen as of late, her’s were completed with a matte finish rather than a glossy one.
Dark denim nails jumped in popularity alongside their red-toned sister, cherry mocha—with both of them being the moodier fall take on the brighter hues that were popular this summer. Namely blueberry milk, Tiffany blue, and mermaidcore nails for dark denim, and cherry red for cherry mocha.
She finished off the outfit with some jewelry and heels. For the bling, she opted for silver bangles, large silver hoops, and a thick silver choker. For shoes, she went with Givenchy’s knee-high black leather boots with silver buckle detailing.
Though her outfit will cost a pretty penny to replicate, you can channel her dark denim nails very easily.
First, like any manicure, you’ll need to remove any lingering nail polish with nail polish remover. After that, apply some oil to your cuticles to soften and push them back. Then, cut and file your nails to the desired length before buffing and applying your favorite base coat.
Once dry, finish with your favorite matte top coat and add a dollop of nail oil for nail health. Then, you will be ahead of the curve of the denim nail trend.
