Real Madrid’s super rookie Kylian Mbappe tops ESPN’s rankings of the world’s best strikers.
ESPN explains: “Because Mbappe is the best player in the world! His game intelligence is high, as is the drive and ambition that brought him to Real Madrid. Mbappe can play striker or right wing, but attacking from the left is his favorite position. Mbappe just failed in his attempt to win the Champions League last season, but he still had an excellent season, carrying the burden on the PSG team as usual.”

Last season, Mbappe won the title of “Top scorer” in Ligue 1 for the 6th consecutive season. The French striker also won the Champions League “top scorer”, shared with Harry Kane of Bayern Munich.
Second on the list is Kane. The English striker won the “Bundesliga Golden Shoe”, the Champions League “Top Scorer” and the “European Golden Shoe” in his first season with Bayern Munich.

The next positions in ESPN’s ranking of the world’s best strikers are Man City’s Erling Haaland, Vinicius Junior (Real Madrid) and Mohamed Salah (Liverpool), respectively.
Notably, Lionel Messi ranked 7th even though the Argentine superstar is playing football in the American Professional League (MLS). “Messi may have left top European football, but he continues to show his dazzling ability in America,” ESPN praised.
Messi’s long-time rival Cristiano Ronaldo is only ranked 15th. This is quite surprising because last season, the Portuguese superstar scored 48 goals in all competitions.
