In the match between Phoenix Suns and Denver Nuggets on December 2, Kevin Durant officially entered the top 10 highest scoring players of all time in the NBA.
The 35-year-old shooter surpassed legendary Moses Malone with his 27,409th career score, ranking 10th on the NBA’s all-time scoring list. He finished the game with 30 points and 11 assists.
Once a boy who watched legends on the radio or posters posted at school, when Kevin Durant entered the NBA, he still spent time surfing YouTube, poring over highlights of the greatest players.
“ Being able to stand with legends like this is a great privilege for me. It is the result of a long process of hard training, requiring a lot of physical and mental preparation. I also don’t forget the many people who helped me get to where I am today ,” Durant shared.
Unfortunately, the day KD reached a special milestone was a day that lacked the feeling of finishing (only 8-25 FG), and at the same time he and his teammates did not get to enjoy the feeling of victory.
Topping the NBA’s all-time scoring list is LeBron James, who as of December 2 had scored 39,124 points. The Los Angeles Lakers star was also one of the first colleagues to post on social media to congratulate Durant.
Kevin Durant was born on September 29, 1988 in Washington DC, USA. Since arriving in the NBA in 2007, KD has played for 5 different clubs including Seattle Supersonics, Oklahoma City Thunder, Golden State Warriors, Brooklyn Nets and now the Phoenix Suns.
Over more than 16 years of playing, Durant has been on the All-Star team 13 times, on the All-NBA team 12 times, won the tournament twice and won two NBA Finals MVP titles.
In addition to the above titles and achievements, Durant also became the NBA’s scoring king four times in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2014. In 2022, KD was honored in the NBA’s 75th anniversary lineup.
