If you didn’t know, pigeons are the first birds known to be domesticated by humans. They were our beloved pets for ages. But then one day they went out of style and we simply set them free and forgot about them. Now all the pigeons you see flying around town are the feral ancestors of the once friendly pet. That’s why they tend to stay around highly populated areas, they don’t really know how to survive without humans. It’s heartbreaking, really…

But keep that chin up! Some people out there know this and have started rescuing pigeons and returning them to the name of beloved pet. Recently, a New Yorker adopted a pigeon she found struggling on the street. Now the pigeon is living large in the big city with a human who cares and loves him. He’s even gone viral on TikTok multiple times. Most recently, he’s bringing smiles to peoples’ faces simply by taking a trip. The pigeon was taking on a Delta flight and was given the window seat. This bird got to soar high in the sky with comfort. You better believe he stared out that window in wonderment while getting comfy little head scratchies. This former NYC street pigeon is living the jetsetter life now!
