Some people just have no moral compass. We often see stories about irresponsible people leaving animals on the street or in the wild just because they don’t want to take care of them anymore. But, we’ve never seen something so cruel as caging 12 kittens and leaving them to die in the freezing cold outside.
That’s what a passer-by found while on a walk in a snow mound in Campbell Country, Virginia. Upon inspecting the cage closely, she was shocked to find 12 poor kittens in it, calling the Friends of Campbell County Animal Control agents right away.
When the agents arrived at the scene, it was heartbreaking. The kittens were laying trapped in the cage in the snow in the middle of nowhere. They’re lucky the woman went for a walk, or they could have been dead in a matter of hours. As soon as they were brought to a shelter, the first thing the staff did was to warm them up with blankets and take them to the vet. Luckily, they’re all healthy although a bit malnourished, but food isn’t going to be a problem anymore.
As soon as they’re healthy, they’ll be put up for adoption. No one deserves such a fate, and we’re glad these kittens were saved.
