Announcing the 2024 NBA All-Rookie Team!

After a series of individual awards announced interspersed with the 2024 NBA Playoffs recently, the American Professional Basketball League has just officially revealed the first two typical squads of the 2023-24 season.

The NBA All-Rookie Team is an award honoring first-year players with outstanding achievements, highlighting the best rookies of the 2023-24 season. Below is the list of the two All-Rookie squads announced by the NBA.

Young talent Victor Wembanyama leads with an absolute number of votes, a result that was predicted after the San Antonio Spurs rookie won the Rookie of The Year title.

In addition to “Wemby”, rookie Chet Holmgren of Oklahoma City Thunder also achieved an absolute number of votes. Completing the All-Rookie 1st Team is bigman Brandon Miller of Charlotte Hornets, pitcher Jaime Jaquez Jr. of Charlotte Hornets. Miami Heat and Golden State Warriors defender Brandin Podziemski.

In the second typical team, bigman Dereck Lively II of the Dallas Mavericks led the votes. He is also the only player on both All-Rookie teams to still play in the 2024 NBA Playoffs, joining Dallas in the Western finals against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Behind him are defensive specialist Amen Thompson of the Houston Rockets, shooter Keyonte George of the Utah Jazz, specialist defender Cason Wallace of the Oklahoma City Thunder and scoring star GG Jackson II of the Memphis Grizzlies.

After the typical rookie squad, the NBA will gradually announce the remaining typical squads including the All-NBA and NBA All-Defensive Team this week.

Can Victor Wembanyama make history?

After becoming Rookie of The Year and making it to the All-Rookie team, Victor Wembanyama will most likely be named to the All-NBA team and the NBA All-Defensive Team.

If this comes true, Wembanyama will do a rare thing in NBA history by being both Rookie of The Year and entering one of the two representative teams at the end of the season.

Previously, two seniors who achieved this were Tim Duncan (1998) and David Robinson (1990). Both are pick 1 and more coincidentally, they all wear the same San Antonio Spurs shirt as Victor Wembanyama.
